ACF
ACF provides states with block grants to design and operate programs to meet Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

  • Help with medical bills and find access low cost health care centers or insurance policies.

  • Free mortgage help and foreclosure prevention as well as counseling services. 

  • Debt help can reduce credit card obligations and other payments, such as medical debts.

  • Grants and other forms of financial aid to help with electric bills and energy expenses.

  • Help with taxes, including income and property.

 

Food Assistance

TEFAP
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. It provides food and administrative funds to States to supplement the diets of these groups.
